I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Clearwater, Florida. I grew up playing beach volleyball on the famous sands of Clearwater Beach and even played competitively during college and Dental School. After High School I attended Furman University for an undergraduate degree in Biology and next went on to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for Dental School. In Dental School I finished first in my class in Gross Anatomy and received the honor of teaching the class the following year. Following Dental School I traveled to the Big Island of Hawaii to practice General Dentistry for a year before starting my Orthodontic Residency. During my time in Hawaii I married Rebecca Doshier, who is a Morehead City native, in a beautiful ceremony by the ocean. Next, we traveled to San Antonio Texas for my 3 year residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Throughout my residency I was able to study the Speed and Damon systems under some of the top Professors in the Country, and Invisalign became the topic for my Thesis. During those 3 years in Texas, we were blessed with a daughter Sawyer and a son Zane. Sawyer was born with a Congenital Heart Defect and needed Open Heart Surgery at 16 months old. We are thankful she is now a healthy and happy girl. In 2010, we returned to make the Crystal Coast our home after finding a perfect fit at Coastal Carolina Orthodontics. Rebecca has returned home and is near her friends and family and I have found my new family in the Doctors, staff and patients in our wonderful practice. Our family loves being near the water and we can’t wait to watch them grow up in this great part of Eastern North Carolina.
